This frog (
Breviceps namaquensis) sounds like a bike horn. Native to the arid regions of Namibia and South Africa, the Namaqua rain frog is a small, round-bodied amphibian known for its comically high-pitched squeak, often used as a defense mechanism when threatened. It spends most of its life buried in sandy soil, emerging primarily during rainy periods to feed and breed. Despite its grumpy appearance and tiny limbs, it's remarkably well adapted to its dry habitat.
