The Hubble Telescope has been up there for a while, why couldn't it give us a clear image ten years ago?

Hubble is designed to take much further away photos than our solar system. The same way your phone camera isn't great at taking pictures of microbes.

Hubble couldn't take good pictures of Pluto because of the size to distance ratio. It doesn't have trouble taking pictures of distant galaxies because the galaxies appear larger in the sky than Pluto.
