I am thinking about working a job that helps companies comply with environmental regulations and to develop methods of cleaning up environmental hazards.

For that, I'd say environmental engineering.  Environmental science would teach you about the environment and the hazards associated with pollution and other such concerns, but environmental engineering would go into detail about methods of dealing with environmental hazards and concerns.

An environmental scientist is equipped to explain why something is not good for the environment, but an environmental engineer is equipped to actually do something about it.

Dear friend you can do Bsc digree in environmental science from almost every collage.you also will get chance to finish  Msc & Phd also.
